Feed
Our cattle are fed high quality feeds including: grass, potatoes, alfalfa, corn, and a mineral supplement. An animals diet will change depending on his stage of growth and nutritional needs.  Our steers are fed a total mixed ration (TMR) that is balanced to maximize growth and promote health.

Grain fed or grass fed
Grass fed beef are typically pastured and eat only grass or grass hay.  Grain fed beef are given a diet high in carbohydate and starch to encourage the marbling and finish found in higher quality beef.  Our steers begin with a grass and alfalfa diet high in protein for optimum muscle development.  As the steers get larger their diet gets higher in carbohydrate (potatoes and corn) to properly finish the beef.

Housing
The steers are housed indoors all year around.  Avoiding bad weather improves weight gain and animal health.
